BC Radio - the music discovery project

BC Radio started out as the act of a bunch of passionate youths in 2012. I had been active in the music scene in Mumbai while in college, played in a few bands here and there and enjoying it all quite thoroughly. Music's been a very important part of developing me into who I am, helping me come out of my shell as an awkward teenager - and has helped me make more than half of all the friends I've made since I was 14.

That's me on the right playing live at a little club in the suburbs of Mumbai with the now-defunct "Black Pumpkins".

What is BC Radio? The main purpose was to make a no-nonsense, simplistic, good-looking platform. It was to be authentically indian in flavour. The name "BC" Radio was thus chosen, to reflect the great indian slang and ethos. All of our team members had seen tremendous amateur bands come and go, and BC Radio was going to be the one place where you could always listen to their music and discover even more.

Emphasis is laid on showing the faces of band members, seeing that they're just young passionate Indian youth like yourself.

There is a huge independent music subculture in India and we got a glimpse into the magnitude of this community. From teenagers to retired folk, everyone was making music. We presently have more than 2000 bands live on our platform. Do give us a listen and follow us on facebook!

We were covered extensively in the media, and it was a very humbling experience!

UPDATE: In late 2016 I have updated the UI - improving the responsiveness and solving some minor bugs.
